The Ever Setting and Rising
He sits atop the post
His pets by his side
Waiting for the night
To start his prowl
Two noses
Two tails
His two loyal companions
Waiting for the prowl
The sun in the sky
Dropping quickly
Gives a final wink to the watchman
The night has begun
With only half a day
To do his mission
He starts his prowl
His hounds at his side
Crossing the bridge
Over the ice river crevice
He walks
Always alert always searching
Sword drawn he approaches the intruder
2 parries and a thrust
Another dead body on his record
Resheathed he walks on
His next obstacle
Not one but thirty
Still sheathed he attacks
Leaving only a trail of carnage

As the cat stalked the defenseless pidgeon I thought
I thought of the game of cat and mouse
I thought of me and my brother
I thought of mypast
As the pouring rain started I wondered
I wondered how it could be different
I wondered how the world has changed
I wondered what he would have been like
I got soaked but I didn't care
In the whole scheme of things it didn't matter
With all these oblivious people
Nothing mattered anymore
Not since him
Brrrrrrrrringgggggg… school is out
School was out for me and him a long time ago
In and out in and out thats school for me
Out thats school for him
They are oblivious there too

Footsteps
Leading away
Into the distance
The last time
I saw your face
Crystal Clear
I thought
About you
For the last time
Then carelessly
I turned around
And walked away
Leaving my footsteps

The Sidewalks of Nature
Sitting on a sidewalk
watching the sun in the sky.
Sitting on a sidewalk
watching the stars fly by.
Always on that sidewalk
as the years pass away.
Still on the side walk
even on this very day.
Watching the years
with nobody there.
Sharing his tears
with the empty air.
One on one with nature
with no one to interfere.
One on one with nature
with nobody here.

The winds blow down the street,
A lone leaf
Nothing more
Nothing less
A man walks by
He shuffles his pace uncomfortably
At the site of the body
It's not alive
It's not dead
He still hasn't noticed
The wind, the person, and the dog
He is
Oblivious to one leaf
Oblivious to all
He is there
Yet he is not
The dog smells him
He reeks of Death
Yet he isn't dead
The dog sniffs him again
This time a sent of life
Yet he isn't alive
He is just there
Oblivious for now
Yet how long had it been
Time has no meaning
At least not to him
There is no time
Everyone knows how long
No one talks
Where he lies is eroded

Looking Through My Life by upfromthedeep878, literature
Literature
Looking Through My Life
I looked out
Through the window
Rain was sliding
Down the glass
Lightning spiked above
Again I saw it
Staying there
The round blackness
The lake
It was waiting
For when I
Would meet my fate
It was still raining
The light from my fire
Reflected against the glass
And flickered strangely
A wolf howled
In the distance
Followed by
A crack of thunder
I knew today
Was the day
I walked to the door
Casually taking my jacket
Off the hook
Knowing I would get wet anyway
I entered the blackness outside
This time like no other
I was on a mission
I turned around
I looked in
Through the window
The fire was still flickering
We layed there
Side by side
On that old hill
Over the lake
We'd stare up there for hours
At the pinpricks of light
They sparkle like the
Reflections of your eyes
I could lie here forever
Just you and me
And the stars
Underneath the blanket of night
Seperated from the world
Up in the heavens
Having the cosmic winds
Bring us along
We'd hold hands
Laying on the sky
Looking down on the earth
Being away from home
We'd drift away
Where no one has been
The colors of a lifetime
Would lay before us
I could lie here forever
Just you and me
And the stars
Underneath the blanket of night
I stood there
Looking over the crevice
The long spiral stair
Eased its way gently downwards
But i knew
It wasn't that easy
That was the way
To the blackness beyond
Where no flowers bloom
And no light shines
Where a red man stands before the gates
Ready to becon you into
His realm

3 Haiku's about the sun
Haiku Sun #1
The rising sun sets
The morning brings on the dawn
The setting moon rose
Haiku Sun #2
Yellow flames erupt
Burning the air around it
The air doesn't care
Haiku Sun #3
Moonshine against light
Still fighting over the sky
The sun and the moon
The onslaught of the sea
Moves inland as the ocean grows rough
The trickle-trickle of a nearby river
Changes to a gushing flow
Like a rampant bull
The winds are getting boisterous too
It whistles down through the canyon
Birds are throw about mercilessly
The air is tense
A grumble comes from the ground below
Tremors like a stampede shake the earth
The world is restless
A rustle comes from the heart of the woods
Followed by more like thunder
The trees have awoken
The onslaught of the sea
Moves inland as the ocean grows rough
The trickle-trickle of a nearby river
Changes to a gushing flow
